Marvelous Marchesa

As you may have read, I officially said "yes" to my wedding dress, but there were several dresses that were major contentenders. Therefore, I thought it would be fun to post photos of the dress options I was considering, but didn't end up picking! The first two options aren't wedding dresses and instead, gowns that appeared on the runway during Mercedes Benz Spring 2010 Fashion Week. I loved the idea of taking a regular runway dress and making it bridal. These two whimsical gowns are from Marchesa, a stellar collection from Georgina Chapman. The left dress is a bit poufy for my tastes, but if I selected it, I knew that Marchesa's design team could tone it down. The gown on the right was my favorite of the two - structured, regal, and elegant. Why didn't I pick it? Marchesa is known for being a celebrity staple on the red carpet, so I didn't want to chance it being associated with an awards show or gala!
